(More customer reviews)We've had a Francis! Francis! X3 Espresso machine for well over a year now, and have gone through about a thousand ESE pods. We've tried hundreds of Illy, Espressione Arabica, and Espressione Classic pods, but these Lavazza pods are the best so far. The taste is consistently smooth, without the varying levels of bitterness we tasted in the other pods. We ordered 150 Lavazza pods about a month ago and I'm about to put in our next order. This is definitely the fastest we've ever gone through an order of 150 pods.

Lavazza Gran Crema Espresso, 2.2-pounds Box (Pack of 150) Review

(More customer reviews)I bought these to use with a Handpresso portable espresso maker. The first few shots that I made came out a bit too quickly (as others have mentioned) and had a slightly wattery taste with very little crema.
THIS ISSUE CAN BE RESOLVED!
After the first few shots, I decided to add some additional tamping pressure to the pod by pressing down on it with a solid object (I found that a mason jar or coffee mug both worked great) with the hopes that this would increase brewing time and provide a more satisfying shot.
It worked, and now my shots come out perfect, with good flavor and tons of crema. I have to give these pods four stars for the poor tamping, but fortunately this is something that can be resolved quite easily.

150 Espresso Pods Intenso Gusto Forte Made in Italy (Napoli Review

(More customer reviews)I like strong coffee, so recently purchase a refurbished Cuisinart EM-100 from another web site (no longer avail). I liked the strong espresso which I was able to make from my loose espresso ground, but disliked the cleanup required after each pull. This espresso pod which I ordered through Amazon gives me the best of both worlds. Strong, intense coffee with decent crema. Clean up is quick and easy with a damp sponge, usually without a stray grounds to worry about. My only minor regret is that the ESE holder can only hold one pod at a time, so I can no longer make a double shot with one pull.

(More customer reviews)With the pods & the Lavazza machine you get a shot of espresso with the push of the button. The pods make it super easy (though they're probably not eco friendly). I have a double espresso every morning and have found the crema to consistently produce the most flavorful and creamy espresso shots. While the crema is strong espresso, it does not produce the jolt that some coffee house espressos do. On the other hand, it is smoother, less harsh and very "drinkable". The coffee houses have not been getting my money in the morning for quite a while now.
